The Rocket Cart Mobile App allows users to scan items with the in app barcode scanner as they shop in a supported grocery store or supermarket. The device will communicate with the stores Point of Sale (POS) system and display the current price and keep a running tally of items in the cart. When the user is finished shopping is when the real magic happens. The app will communicate with the POS and create a new temporary item with a barcode displayed on the device. When this barcode is scanned into the stores existing self checkout machine, the total cost of the trip will be displayed on the checkout machine and the user will place the entire bag onto the scale for weight verification. Voila! No more long lineups, waiting for people in front to figure out how self checkout works. There will be a dedicated self checkout machine to further enhance the efficiency of the app. Other Features will include smart lists, social media integration (shareable lists) and loyalty cards.
